As being recently in a foreign country, I was offered a short-term stay in the school dormitory. It doesn’t feel as disposable as a hotel room, but the short stay makes it impossible to carry more support beyond the basic functions. It may be more appropriate to call it a “place of long-term stopover” than a “place of residence”. Apart from what the dorm can share, a part of me can be only live somewhere briefly. Live and wander temporarily in a fixed range.
This series is thus one of my attempts to sort out this vague state of affairs. During the shooting, I used a pencil to mark several places with numbers before shooting, and these numbers themselves did not have a certain reference or reason to make it there; it can be understood as the order of the places according to my memory, or as a ranking of their functional importance ...... These numbers are the anchors set for the reason to hold in this quasi-senseless work.
