Photography Series, 2021, dyptique, inkjet print on matte paper, 60x90cm each
Sweetened it, Ruined it consists of two types of images - fragments of ruins and still lifes. They are recolored and manipulated in such a way as to give us the impression of seeing a fantasized world, an obscure vision of organic and artificial matter.
These images, which seem disconnected, nevertheless share a same metaphorical aspect, suggested by the use of colors which evoking their artificial side. Between the image of ruin from urban landscapes and the composition of still lifes, the dualized metaphor foretells the inevitable deterioration of human beings. By juxtaposing these images, a subtle tension is created between them, thus an invasion, an exchange, a fusion. And offer us a reconstituted apocalyptic perspective on these fine materials.
