The Horsemen

Ongoing drawing/performance series (2022 - )

Following a new cycle of political and economic crises, I am thinking of artistically transcribing my feelings of tension and the impact that current events impose on us in a subliminal way. Inspired by the icon of the four horsemen of the apocalypse mentioned in the New Testament, as well as Matthew Barney’s 2014 film —“River of Fundament”, I wanted to approach a series of drawings and performative actions that would allow me an immersion in territories to weave links with cultural and daily structures. This piece will emphasize the characteristic of the historical image and its meaning related to our time and to the narration of individuals. The subject will be paraphrased metaphorically to allow poetic interpretation. It is a piece that evolves at a particular pace, towards alternative trajectories.
