Untitled (Yuto Fuwara)
In-situ installation, 2021, collaboration projet with Yuzhe Wang, inkjet-printed photos, metalic stand, wood sticks, wool threads, variable dimension
This installation work comes from a collaboration project with Yuzhe Wang in 2021. Since both of us are interested in the common aspect of photography image and spatial installation — their constant construction and deconstruction, we decided to create a fictional character as an opportunity for our first collaboration. We worked as if the character embraced both our similarities and our differences in creativity; as if he is born after the impact of our thoughts and ways of creating art.
Yuto Fuwara, a fictional artist named after a combination of our respective names, has developed a work towards a particular aesthetic, where fictitious and real materials mingle, transform, intervene, intersect physically and metaphorically. His works emerged and created a heterogeneous look at the complex relationship between space, image abstraction, corporality, object obsession, and industrial fragment.
